This may be a good possibility for hotel. This is in Jackson Hole...near airport, near east entrance to park.  Rates seem reasonable, investigate specials or discounts available. The Point Inn and Suites.  Jackson Hole is the best location since it is at the main entrance to the park as well as not too far from Teton National Park to the south of the park. The extra cost could be worth it since driving could be a little less maybe.  Jackson Hole is the resort area so costs are higher here.

I'm not a hotel snob. It just needs to be clean, safe and offer what we need.  I think Wi-fi or internet access is a necessity, its a wilderness, access could be an issue.  Free breakfast would be a help too.  I wonder what cabins rent for.  We should check that out. Something that has a kitchenette might save on food costs.

Microtel Inn and Suites in Bozeman Montana-- This could be a winner.  Check out these prices.  Bozeman is 80 miles from the north park entrance but definitely worth looking at. But probably only if we fly in and out of Bozeman.

Check out all the regional airports including Boseman and Billings Montana and Idaho Falls to see the best price on flights from DFW.

Interesting website to visit http://www.yellowstonepark.com/  This one seems extremely helpful. "My Clipboard" might be a great tool.
